Aging with Dignity: Alzheimer’s 101 is a special community briefing presented by WorldDenver in partnership with Dementia Friendly Denver, a local affiliate of the national Dementia Friendly America initiative. This free, engaging program offers an optimistic and informative overview of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, designed for individuals, families, professionals, and community members. Expert educator JJ Jordan will share the difference between Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, common warning signs, risk factors, and how to pursue a diagnosis. The session will also explore promising research updates, the latest treatments, and ten proactive steps anyone can take to help reduce their risk of dementia. In addition, practical tips for communication and caregiving, as well as local resources, will be shared. Join us to better understand dementia and walk away with tools, knowledge, and hope for navigating aging with dignity.
